About the Artist
Yami Bolo, called "the freshest Roots and Culture artiste springing out of the pack in Jamaica today" has torn up crowds as far away as Canada, Japan, Europe and the United States and is not stopping.
Yami Bolo's magical voice speaks directly to the heart, his singing style has been passionately compared to "a cry out in the wilderness" inspiring strength, joy and hope.
With a musical history rich in the wellsprings of Jamaican roots reggae, Yami is one of the premier Rastafari singer/ songwriters of his generation. He broke out of the pack over 15 years ago riding on top of the now famous "stalag" riddim with "When a Man's in Love" for producer Winston Riley. The artist credits Augustus Pablo and Sugar Minott, two of his early producers, with helping to shape his musical direction, and ranks Stevie Wonder as a top influence.
